  1.      Middle Ages: the phenomenon of reminiscence, of which 
  2.      more must be said later. With regard to literature, a 
  3.      fundamental observation must be made here; in the 
  4.      Middle Ages, as in antiquity, they read usually, not as 
  5.      today, principally with the eyes, but with the lips,
